CALLEJEROS SALSA ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In our history, we have had a couple of accomplishments worth mentioning. Here are some
that we consider our pride and glory.
2010 - UTAH SALSA CHAMPIONS COMPETITION
1st - Place Advanced/Professional Division
1st - Place Amateur/Beginner Division
Very proud to say that our guys were able to conquer 1st place at the two divisions
in the annual Utah Salsa Champions Competition. With these wins, Callejeros
are still the champions in 4 states!
2010 - COLORADO SALSA COMPETITION
1st - Place Advanced/Professional Division
3rd - Place Amateur/Beginner Division
Very proud to say that with this win, Utah is now champion in 3 different
states in the mountain west region. And also one of our couples who has been
dancing for only 1 month total, was able to get 3rd place in Amateur division.
2010 - LAS VEGAS NEVADA SALSERO COMPETITION
1st - Place Advanced Division
Last year we were able to get second, but this time we went and were able to get
first place. It was very tough, and Las Vegas has amazing dancers.
2010 - IDAHO ROTARY DANCE COMPETITION
1st - Place Salsa Division
This was a competition of all genres against all genres. We received 2nd over all
and received the top place within the Salsa couples.
2008 - SAN FRANCISCO SALSA CONGRESS COMPETITION
3rd - Place Advanced/Professional Division
This was a true test of what we can do in the big stage. In the finals, we
went against people that have finished top 10 in the ESPN world Salsa championships,
and were still able to get 2nd after the semis, and finished 3rd in finals. We were
competing against people that we truly admire and inspire us.
2007 - ESPN WORLD SALSA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Finished top 25 in the World
This is the toughest competition in the entire planet. As a team, we
were so honored to stand next to the best teams in the world. It was a very
amazing and humbling experience. We finished in the top 25 group.
2007 - UTAH SALSA CHAMPIONS COMPETITION
1st - Place Advanced/Professional Division
3rd - Place Advanced/Professional Division
1st - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
For the first time, we received the top place at a competition in Utah in
Advanced and Professional level. Not just that, but another couple got 3rd as
well. And to top it all, one of our Amateur level couples got first in their
division as well.
2007 - HAWAII SALSA FESTIVAL COMPETITION
1st - Place TEAMS Division
After loosing in Los Angeles Teams competition, we decided to try again. And by
winning this competition, we got our ticket to the ESPN World Salsa Championships.
2007 - LOS ANGELES SALSA CONGRESS COMPETITION
2nd - Place TEAMS Division
Probably the hardest place to qualify for the ESPN World Salsa Championships. This
was one of the toughest competitions there is, we lost against a Puerto Rican team.
2007 - LOS ANGELES SALSA CONGRESS AWARD
1st - time someone from Utah receives an Award from this Congress
I couldn't believe it when they told us that we were going to receive an award
at one of the biggest Salsa congresses there is.
2006 - NEW YORK SALSA CONGRESS
1st - Team from Utah to get invited to this congress
After performing in Texas, the organizer of the New York Congress,
invited us and took us to New York.
2006 - LOS ANGELES SALSA CONGRESS
1st - Team from Utah that goes to the NIGHT section
After performing in the afternoon shows, we were able to pass to
the night show after being selected from 30 teams.
2006 - PUERTO RICO P11 RADIO SALSA COMPETITION
1st - Place Advanced/Professional Division
A competition in Puerto Rico, which we took first place after a battle in finals
with two other couples three tied for first.
2006 - UTAH MAMBO KINGS SALSA COMPETITION
3rd - Place Advanced/Professional Division
This was a very tough competition in the Advanced level, and happy to say that we
got 3rd. We competed against people that taught us how to dance.
2006 - TEXAS SALSA CONGRESS
1st - Team that represents UTAH in Texas
We are the very first team to represent Utah at a National level. Our first
performance is at the Texas Salsa Congress.
2005 - UTAH TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIPS
1st - Place Teams Division
We did this with another team, and we received first place. This got us the
chance to perform for the Los Angeles Salsa Congress.
2005 - UTAH MAMBO KINGS SALSA COMPETITION
5th - Place Advanced/Professional Division
1st - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
Second time we compete in this competition, and this time we had to go to the next
level. We did not finish top three, but one of our couples got first in Amateur
level. So that's two straight years getting first in Amateur level.
2005 - UTAH DOWNTOWN CLUB SALSA COMPETITION
1st - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
One of our couples received the top placement at this local downtown competition.
2005 - UTAH DUROS DE LA SALSA COMPETITION
4th - Place Advanced/Professional Division
1st - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
2nd - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
Very proud that our very first students, took the first and second place in
the amateur division, and we also took 4th in our very first Advanced competition.
2005 - HAWAII SALSA PARADISE SALSA COMPETITION
1st - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
At this competition, we took the first place in our first out of state competition.
2005 - UTAH DIMITRIS SALSA COMPETITION
2nd - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
This is one of the competitions where we took second place in the Beginner level.
2005 - UTAH MANHATTAN CLUB SALSA COMPETITION
2nd - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
Our third competition, and we were able to secure second place in the Amateur
division at a local club.
2005 - UTAH MAMBO KINGS SALSA COMPETITION
1st - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
Our third competition, and we were able to receive first place for the very first
time. An amazing night.
2005 - UTAH PAPIYONS CLUB SALSA COMPETITION
2nd - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
Our second competition, and we received second place in this competition.
2005 - UTAH CLUB 90 SALSA COMPETITION
1st - Place Beginner/Amateur Division
Our very first competition all together, and we were able to receive first place.
